Dear All

My legal representative requested transcript to be mailed on my behalf from Addis Ababa University to government organization and to educational institute. Very sadly for the last several months the University is unable to fulfill the request.

The University registrar office required a copy of my passport to be faxed directly from me and not willing to accept the copy that my legal representative bring to the registrar office. I tried to fax to the registrar office several times but the registrar office fax was not able to receive it. I spend over $50 USD for that, unnecessary.

For several months the registrar fax machine was not working because of technical problems that is why the fax failed. Then today I received information that the fax works. Then I tried once again, hoping the situation changed, and still the fax does not go through. I am charged for that attempt additional $1.10 USD which is about 10 Birr in few seconds. If I continue to try, I will just going to be charged $1.10 USD in every few seconds and all that can easily add up to few tens and even hundreds of dollars easily.

I need a solution for this. I could not fax to Addis Ababa University Registrar fax number 251-111-223-809 from USA, period! Dear university officials I deserve immediate solution because the official transcript means employment and a lot of other serious business.

In your part you are violating the law by declining to accept the transcript order by the presence of the legal representative or power of attorney. The law gives power the same as mine in my absent the person with the power of attorney to conduct my business. Addis Ababa University is infringing this court ruling and the nation and international laws clearly.

Please do not be uncivilized in a civilized world and make life on other people difficult.
It is really a shame on institution like AAU to act in this manner. It sounds you can not live without violating laws and stepping on other foot at all cost. Alas! God mercy.
This nation is burning. Why the leadership always fail in such otherwise simple issue.

Come on use common sense in a country where the telecommunication network and service is the world backward to require sending fax to carry out such routine task as delivering transcript is very awkward. First of all the registrar office fax facility was out of order for more than two month because it was flooded with water and fixing that is like launching a rocket and it takes months. Even after the university declared that the fax connection is restored due to poor connection it is very difficult to pass through the message. When they require a working procedure dependent on technology which is not well supported under their full control what is the mind and soul of these foxes thinking. Much amazing is all these is at the expense of violating norms and values and the law.
